Email Activity

In this project, I honed my professional communication skills by providing suggestions on existing emails, drafting new ones, and crafting effective responses. These exercises emphasized clarity, appropriate tone, and audience awareness. Drafting emails allowed me to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, while reviewing emails reinforced the critical importance of careful editing for professionalism and impact.

I had to consider both parties, both my boss’s and the team’s. I had to learn how to balance critique and criticism without offending my boss and belittling her, while also editing to make the message come across clearly to the team members without offending any of them, but being stern about upcoming policies.

I learned how to properly communicate needs while still emphasizing likeability. I also practiced my professional communication skills, and was able to put myself in the shoes of an actual intern, doing intern things. This equipped me for more real world experiences, and better prepared me to handle tasks and situations in a real world position.

Team presentation on likeability

I collaborated with a team of peers to research and deliver an engaging presentation on the topic of likeability. Utilizing strong teamwork skills, we developed a valuable and JSOM-approved presentation that educated students on how to present themselves, act, and communicate in a likeable manner. To create an interactive experience, we even designed our own Jeopardy game at the end of the session, fostering greater engagement and learning.

Personal data tracking activity

Over the course of four weeks in March, I undertook a personal data tracking project. I diligently collected information daily on my screen time and steps money spent. The objective was to analyze this data to identify any potential correlations between these two aspects of my daily routine, practicing data collection and analytical thinking.
